5 April 2026 is not just any date. It is a real opportunity to take a step towards a fairer, more inclusive and more humane San Marino.
Associazione 121 will present three Arengo Istanze (Petitions) to Their Excellencies the Captains Regent that speak clearly: it is time to recognise rights that are still denied today.
Three demands, three battles for civilisation:
1. Gender reassignment
People who are on a journey of gender affirmation have the right to have their identity recognised in official documents too. This is not about bureaucracy: it is about dignity.
2. Registration of same-sex parent families
Sons and daughters exist; families exist. But the state all too often pretends not to see them. Birth and adoption certificates registered abroad must be legally recognised, so that no child is left without protection.
3. Rights of same-sex parent families
The best interests of the child must come first. Ensuring the recognition of both parents in San Marino’s same-sex parent families means truly protecting those who are most vulnerable.
These issues are not abstract: they concern real people, real lives, fundamental rights.
This is why we need everyone’s contribution.
If you are a San Marino citizen of legal age, you can make a difference by signing the petitions.
Every signature is a political act.
Every signature is a step towards equality.
Change does not happen on its own: it is built, together.
